When Those Who Are Called Stand Up
Nov 25th, 2008 by wisdom4us
I must admit that I have been in mourning. I have been in mourning since that first Tuesday night of November when we learned that Barack Obama is our new president elect. I have wondered how this great nation of ours that was founded by Founding Fathers full of faith, faith in a God that does not abandon, full of courage to stand in the midst of adversary and fight for the what IS “right”. How this country could elect a man who is so outwardly against everything they believed in and fought for. How could we? The answer that has arisen in my heart is the same answer for the Israelites when they wanted a king. In 1 Samuel 8, they asked Samuel to give them a king to judge over them like all the other nations had. Samuel did not want to do this, he prayed to the Lord but the Lord said, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.”
The people of America do not want the KING to reign over them. They want someone they can put in front of the cameras to say what they want him to say. They think that they can dictate to him what they want and he will give it to them, no questions asked. The media has lifted Mr. Obama up, some have compared him to the Messiah.
I no longer wonder how this man got elected as our president.
But now that he is elected, it is time for those of us who are called to stand up. We have to stay vigilant and not allow our rights and the rights of our children to be erased. Stand with me in prayer. You can sign up here to join the Presidential Prayer Team.

When those who are called by His name stand up, nothing will be impossible to those who believe! We have a long hard battle in front of us but together, when we are joined in unity, we can move mountains! We cannot change who are president elect is, but we can stop him from removing our heritage, from removing our rights!!!
One last link I would like to leave you with is here, The Gettysburg Address Challenge.
You can read about the king chosen by the Israelites in 1 Samuel starting in chapter 8.

Not just a king, but slavery! How they begged to go back to Egypt!! All because they could not trust in God alone. That’s our country…begging for slavery. And they may have just gotten what they asked for! Don’t you love BPA?!
VERY well said. Amen to everything. Thank you for posting this. Makes me think of Benjamin Franklin. “A nation of well informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the region of ignorance that tyranny begins”.
Thank you Melissa and Tricia for reading this post and leaving a comment.
